Luther Mack honored at Harrah's dinner for service to McDonald's
Luther Mack, former owner of McDonald’s restaurants in the Reno-Sparks area, recently was recognized for his 35 years of service to McDonald’s, both locally and regionally.
Mack sold his 11 restaurants in January 2009, announcing his semi-retirement after nearly four decades of work with the national chain.
The award, given for Mack’s “contributions to building the McDonald’s brand,” was presented during a dinner event at Harrah’s Steakhouse including McDonald’s West Division and Pacific Sierra Region officials.
“Luther’s had a big influence on McDonald’s both locally and statewide," said Tom McKinney, owner of 15 local McDonald’s restaurants. "We’re really sorry to see him go and I personally appreciate the contributions he’s made on behalf of all McDonald’s in the area. He’s going to be missed and I wish him luck in his future endeavors.”
Mack recently announced his partnership in opening the first-ever Fuddruckers, home of the “World’s Greatest Hamburgers,” at The Legends at Sparks Marina. The restaurant is scheduled to open this summer.
